remembering on this day [and every day]
the loss of the many canadian soldiers who have fallen,
serving an ideal.
there are simply no words of comfort good enough for their family,
nor any words worthy of the gratitude we have
for their sacrifices.
to honor them,
all that we are required to do is:
R-E-M-E-M-B-E-R
and maintain those same ideals,
so it will not all be in vain.
we salute you!!
if it weren't for you,
history wouldn't be the same,
and we most likely wouldn't be
where we are today.

20 years ago,
a "wall" fell down in berlin.
20 years ago,
the symbolic reunification happened
of brothers & sisters gone estranged.
20 years ago,
a people found a new pride,
not from bygone eras,
but in the time we now live in.
20 years ago,
i remember getting a phone call
from acquaintances i had over there back then,
ein bisschen drunken aber,
so euphoric!!!
20 years later,
is the euphoria still there?
i know i still tear up,
thinking of this moment,
even if i was never directly affected by it,
or even present when it happened.
it's a matter of principle:
a symbol of repression crumbled!!
who could ever complain about that?!?
except maybe those who were oppressing the others perhaps...

ever the pontifical ass,
acts as a "unifier",
reaching out to anglicans...
by dwelling on a bone of contention in the anglican church,
as some are open to women having a more active role in the church,
& the integration of gays,
leaving the more hardcore anglicans somewhat disgruntled.
benedictus is hoping to recuperate these anglicans into the vatican fold
by digging the divide of prejudice ever present among christians,
thus comforting those in agrement with such a principle.
but these anglicans would ever be second-class catholics,
as they could become priests,
but never bishops...
retribution for leaving rome's leadership centuries ago?
how christian!!!

in the meantime,
you have those who beg for acceptance and integration within the anglican church.
those gay christians are banging their heads
on the wall of indifference and homophobia
of the more radical well-thinking, self-righteous str8 christians.
good luck to them!!
i wouldn't bother,
personally...

on the other hand,
you have those who "preach" life without god,
but overall,
i find the whole circus rather disconcerting,
and pointless.
i maintain that faith is a personal journey,
not a collective one,
as it usually leads to collective madness,
just a bunch of fanatics.
you don't need to join one association or another.
the answer is within.

an idea crossed my mind,
& i must say right now,
my comment is not meant to be prejudicial in any way.
it's only an observation.
in the event that the H1N1 (swine) flu should be such a pandemic
across the planet,
wreaking havoc as some authorities seem to fear,
i was thinking that...
muslim women wearing the hijab or the burka
may be the ones the best suited to survive this,
as it offers a "natural" obstacle to the virus,
given they still wash their hands on a regular basis.
in the occident,
we congregate together,
we hug, we kiss, we shake hands.
could this be our demise?
my idea is not based on any clinical research of any kind,
but it would seem logical
that these women could become dominant in the world population.
a civilization of muslim amazons?!?
might it make you rethink your feeling about the hijab & the burka,

he's looking down at us right now
as he flew this morning up in the sky
to meet the stars...
well, sort of.
it must have been a blast for him.

as a way to sensibilize people
to the problem of fresh water for a vast part of the world population.
his one drop fondation is a testimony

roman polanski has tried to evade american justice
for thirty years,
on charges of rape & pedophilia 30 years ago,
on which accusations he recognised his culpability...
& left the country!!!
he got arrested in switzerland
& i say YEAH !!!!
contrary to some french official that declared
that arresting this man was upsetting,
as much as i can admire his work,
he's still a pedophile who abused someone way back then
(god knows what he's done since then, in europe...)

his victim needs justice
& we need to see this man put away for his crime.
